Earl Grey and Rose
Open since November 2010, Earl Grey & Rose is a glorious oasis of coffee, cake, and craft in Streatham - a part of South London that's blossoming into somewhere rather special. As well as beautiful homemade cakes, salads and sandwiches, Earl Grey & Rose allow you to rent sewing machines for £3.50 per hour (très Parisienne) so you can hem your curtains or whizz out a skirt whilst sipping your cappucino and contemplating a cupcake. With jewellery, handbags and homemade jams and chutneys on sale, these ladies sure know how to keep a customer satisfied.
There are also classes, if you're in to self-improvement. Learn to make a patchwork cushion, bunting, handbags, corsages and pearl necklaces in absolutely lovely surroundings. Drop in or give them a ring to find out more. Unsurprisingly, the staff are immensely friendly. So would we be, if we worked surrounded by so many beautiful things. And cakes. Oh my, the cakes.

22 Jul 2011Well what can I say - I agree with all thats said already - a beautiful cafe in Streatham Hill which is really needed and appreciated!. Only one big problem though is one of the ladies who works there is an absolute sweetie and the other one is very glacial! In fact completely rude and cold! Very offputting. I will only go in if I pop my head in to make sure iceberg is not there! Apart from that lovely place!
