Horse Meat Disco
Even the dingiest of pubs can feel like Studio 54 when dancing to Giorgio Moroda next to an Amazonian drag queen. Though there might be pool tables at the back, the only ball of any interest here is the silver one that spins and glitters. Situated in South London's gay village, Horse Meat Disco draws a fashionable gay crowd with electric beats unleashed by top name DJs like Hercules & Love Affair and LCD Soundsystem. While The Eagle pub is an odd choice of venue for this slice of disco heaven, the feeling of mardi gras having invaded the Queen Vic adds a touch of sparkle to Sunday nights.
