333 Mother
Don't expect to come home with a freshly ironed shirt and shiny shoes: there's nothing maternal about 333 Mother. But what this dark and dingy Old Street haunt lacks in style, it makes up for in street cred. It's easier to name what the live bands and guest DJs don't play than what they do: pop and R&B are absent, but anything and everything else goes. Celebrity spotting is guaranteed on Thursday's XFM night, when Gavin & Stacey's Mat Horne mans the decks. Don't wear all black, or you'll blend in with the walls. And floor. And bar. And seats.
