Screen on the Green

If this cinema was a shop, it would be vintage (the Odeon would be a bad Next outlet with spotty sales assistants and a dirty shop floor). Screen on The Green, with its neon tube lighting and magnetic lettering, creates a scene so '60s you half expect Austin Powers to appear with a dancing chorus line. Starbucks-swilling 30-somethings flock here for posh snacks and foreign films. Leg room is limited and seats low slung but it's cheaper than the nearby Vue. If you can endure spine ache, kick back and enjoy the meticulously appointed film list. Cristina Azorin
