Ironmonger Row Baths
Back in 1931, local authorities built this pool and bath-house for the grubby pre-war community. We might be less grubby, but we're now mid-unending-war, so it's hard to say who's better off. Now, as then, the 30-metre pool is a joy to swim in, with high ceilings and plenty of natural light streaming in. If you're festival-grade-dirty you can work the grime out at the adjoining Turkish baths, with a steam room, three hot rooms, an icy plunge pool and marble slabs for no-frills, pocket-friendly body scrubs and massages.
