Jerusalem Tavern

You'll have to squeeze between shirted bellies to get to the bar in this tiny tavern, but a kindly barman will resuscitate you with samples of St Peter's Brewery ales. Flickering candles, shadowy corners and a wall-mounted fox make the perfect Shakespearean setting for a modern-day brawl. So choose your ale (we liked the syrupy Honey Porter), find a nook, and watch disapprovingly as the suits approach table-banging stage, then start berating their colleagues before bursting into tears. One launched into Nessun Dorma on our visit, we jest not.
