The Chandos

While the West End stars slope-off post-show to tumescently multiplying champagne bars in Soho, the stage hands and audience head here. As do American tourists fumbling at the bar with currency they just can't get to grips with. Why this pub is so popular we're not quite sure, given that its motley assortment of furniture is pretty much all uncomfortable. Nevertheless it definitely does the job: roof over head, cheap beer in hand, freakish mechanical mannequin on the roof. Ticks all our boxes.
