The Dalston Jazz Café
It's been here for yonks, but still feels as temporary as a chill-out tepee at Glasto. It calls itself a jazz bar, but plays scratched compilations that Itchy suspects came free with The Observer. The battered sofas and chairs look cherry-picked to be left in the field come Monday morning. Even the building feels like an afterthought – a conservatory jutting out into a car park. But for all it lacks, this buzzy little bar has got atmosphere by the bucketload.
