La Perla
In La Perla, the tequilas are suitably viscous and the Mexican beer list is worth more than a once-over. The atmosphere here is a nice mix of shanty-town glamour and Covent Garden solidity – the kind of place a slinky-hipped, Latino rent boy might turn tricks with aging madams in Armani power suits. The limp, browning leaves in the artichoke salad, on the other hand, were not sexy or respectable. Come for a drink, don't touch the food.
