Eating here is a journey through space and time. One minute you're on a stretch of Kingsland Road in 2009, the next you're in the best chippy 60s Margate had to offer. Friendly, pinny-clad staff, mushy peas, sponge puddings and retro décor all conspire to whisk you far away from the here and now. You'll struggle to find fresher fish, crispier batter or chunkier chips, and if you can't stretch to eating in, go for the equally fab takeaway next door.
