Fancy having a drink on the set of Saw, minus the homicidal maniac? This is Carbon, a Shoreditch style posing den in the heart of the West End (cue collective cheer from the South London massive). Grab the signature Cullinan cocktail or a glass of Taittinger and see which celebs you can spot lurking in the corners. The fresh feeling DJs haven't sold out to the usual r 'n' b tunes common in this part of town, and when they've got an exclusive DJ box on a jetty above the bar, why the hell should they? Urban, gritty, dark, cool...best book somewhere else for Mother's Day.

Apparently Lily Allen was supposed to be turning up when I went in, but I didn't see her.
