The Couch

It's one of those places you wander into knowing you haven't ventured far enough off Oxford Street for it to be any good, but then somehow wind up staying 'til closing, having gone into the overdraft. Cheap it is not, but there's something friendly and accepting about this place that keeps 'em coming, no thanks to the cheesy boards they put outside to lure the punters in. As well as the vast wine selection, the gastropub style food is exceptionally good. Go for the veggie or meat platter.
