The George
Virtually nothing can beat this huge pub for crashing out on a weekend lunchtime with some papers and an icy cider or three. The sofas are strangely womb-like (not in an icky way, obviously) and the food is so comforting you could quite happily move in. Like a lot of places in South London, The George is mostly staffed by Antipodeans, beaming roundly as their beautiful tans fade in the eternal British winter, and this adds to the cheery atmosphere while also making any big sporting clash quite interesting.
