Calabash
Go on, give it a go. Don't be put off by the surreal, community centre feel or the occasionally dead atmosphere - the food at Calabash is really good. Take a crowd or try and pick a busy night and, honestly, you'll love it. The menu spans the African continent with meaty stews, fish, rice and beans featuring in most dishes. There are a couple of offerings for veggies, good plantain chips and fantastic African wines. Trip down the hall to the bar for after dinner drinking.
