Le Mercury
Reports on this place tend to range from abuse and death threats of the 'why you send me here, I kill you and your mother' ilk to downright rapturous joy. We still tend to side with the rapturous joy part of the equation. Le Mercury is bohemian, romantic and cheap –the kind of place where you could take a date and rather than calling you a cheapskate bastard and refusing to show you her tits, she'd think you were rather clever, not to mention restaurant scene knowledgeable. The food is French/Modern British with good fish and meat options, and decent desserts. Your fellow diners will range from young professionals on first dates to new money locals with a taste for value. All good we reckon.
