Taja
Local bog done good, Taja is a fine choice for Whitechapel eating. The location is quirky - a small hut on the side of the high street - and the food is good. They tend to cater for western tastes so if you like your curry with kick you'll have to put in a special request for extra spice. Crowd wise you're looking at local students and skint young professionals who wish someone had told them that media studies wasn't going to get them a job. It's 'what's it all abouts'and cheesy chat up lines all the way. Oh and apparently this place won an award from the India Times for "Best Newcomer" in 1998.
