The Sun is here! Time to chill out
Isn't it typical... the sun shines and the first thing we want to do is go running, speeding almost, into the coolest bar with the icyist air conditioning.
Arrhhhh we sigh as we sip our cool cool beer. Heaven.
Well, if this is you, and you just happen to also be an extremist then you'll love the Absolute Icebar, which is at a constant –5 degrees and made completely from Swedish ice (It's the best... apparently!).
Itchy were given a massive quilted poncho to wear as we huddled up in the frosty corners of the bar, sipping champagne cocktails. We sat by the massive clear iced table, which was decked out with fur trimmings... even our glasses were made out of ice ... guess that makes them ices really.
After spending what seemed like an eternity (around 45 mins) we made our way downstairs... joints painful, toes numb, nose running, yet strangely exhilarated by the newly relaunced bar, recently redesigned by jewellers David & Martin.
Downstairs we found Below Zero... which fortunately wasn't, as by now we were poncholess. Sob. Below Zero is bigger, darker, warmer and louder than its upstairs sibling. Great place to spend the rest of the night as it begins to cool down outside.
